I Tried Changing Our Morning Routine... Nothing Changed

This morning was a bit different. My son woke up on his own at 5:40AM which is not that far from when I wake up to when I wake him up. He stayed dry all last night which I was proud of. I had him use the bathroom when we got downstairs so he continued staying dry. He had maybe two small handfuls of his cereal, but that was it for eating. He ate at school which is okay. He also had a cup of milk at home so at least I know he had something in his system. Had him use the potty a couple of time before he got on the school bus.

I found out that my neighbors daughter also goes to the same school as my son, so now I have someone I can talk with at the bus stop every morning and afternoon, well at least 2 days a week which I am good with. After he got on the school bus, I got back home, snuggled with my husband to warm up and spent some time with him before making us some breakfast. My husband had leftovers and I made myself a fried egg sandwich with a turkey patty (two sandwiches) which turned out really good.

After all of that I got only one sink load of dishes done. I still have two sink loads left. I don't have a dishwasher, I am the dishwasher. I got something done today before I got my kiddo off the bus today. I am proud of that and I am proud of my son staying dry at school. I talked about a lot of this in my TikTok, this is just a more thorough explanation of the day. Now that he is home he is eating snacks before lunch which is his mac n cheese even though he may not want to eat it. After his lunch will be his nap time. I tend to have a long day with my kiddo but that is okay. I may get frustrated, but I have to remind myself that he is being himself and to take a step back to breathe before anything happens.

As I say now: Keep your coffee filled if you drink coffee, keep your head up and keep going. The day is not over yet and you are strong.
